#Nigeria Decides: Ballot Box Thief Killed By Police In Plateau

According to Sahara reporters, a young man has been shot and killed in Plateau State while attempting to steal a ballot box.

This incident occurred in the Plateau North Senatorial district, at the Ali Kazaure ward in Jos,  which is the home of the the PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Gyang Pwajok.

The alleged thief was shot in the back by police and died on the scene.

The police officer who killed him was from Sector 1B and on assignment at PU38 in Ali Kazaure Ward, Jos North LGA.

See The lucky survivors of the Garissa attack

These are the pictures of the lucky survivors from the Garissa attack last week that left over 147 people were dead. The Islamist sect, Al-Shabaab stormed a university in Garissa killing 147 and injuring many.

The guy pictured above is Peter Njue. Peter lost so many of his classmates but luckily, he is among the few that will tell the story. The young man was shot on the chest, twice in the stomach and on the left arm.

Air Force helicopter crashes in Lagos

A helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force has crashed in Lagos.

Dele Alonge, Air Force spokesperson, in a statement said the helicopter was a on a training mission in Lagos at about 10 a. m. on Friday when it crashed.

He said the helicopter, which suffered severe damage, was returning to the Apron after the completion of the training exercise when it crashed due to hydraulic failure while on taxi to the hanger.

OMG! Tanker loaded with petrol crashed into Fed. Med. Centre inm Umuahia

A tanker loaded with petrol has crashed into a fence belonging to the Federal Medical Center on Aba Road, Umuahia, Abia State.

The incident which happened on Wednesday, however, recorded no human casualty.

The brakes of the loaded tanker was said to have failed while the driver was on his way to supply the product.

The driver, who lost control of the tanker, was said to have veered off the road, crashing into the hospital’s fence and destroying parts of it.

Killers of the DPO in Ibadan Arrested

The Oyo State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 49 suspects, who were alleged to be involved in the killing of Agugu Divisional Police Officer, Ikeokwu Nwogu.

Nwogu was murdered on April 1, 2015 at the Adekile area of Ibadan during a reign of anarchy that reared its head in the aftermath of alleged discovery of a kidnappers’ den in the area.

The police said their investigation had established that the claim was false.

Aides to one of the Governorship candidates in Oyo attacked by opponent's thugs

Four members of the Action Alliance party were on Tuesday night in Ibadan attacked by thugs loyal to one of the political parties in Oyo State.

The victims are Kabir Ademola, Idowu Akinsola, Femi Akinsola and Ayotunde.

Ayotunde received machete cut to his head, neck and the left ear, while others also had varying degrees of injuries.

The party’s governorship candidate in the state, Taiwo Otegbeye, told our correspondent at the Foremost Hospital, Ibadan, where the victims were receiving treatment, that the men, who were his aides, were pasting his campaign posters in the Akobo area when thugs attacked them.

Police have arrested a 56-year-old Nigerian, Osa Alohaneke for stabbing his Cameroonian fiancée, 52-year-old Evelyne Ebane Epiepang to death on Wednesday April 8, at their home in 16300 block of Alametos Drive in the Mission Bend area.  

Deputies said they found Evelyne Ebane Epiepang, dead inside the house and  her sister injured. Alohaneke was standing nearby with blood on his clothes. He told investigators that Epiepang was his fiancee and they lived at the house.  Another man, a family friend, at the home was not hurt.

South African Woman Smuggles N710m Into Nigeria

A39-year-old South African, Nosisi Nqgula, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for allegedly smuggling foreign currencies worth about N710.7m to Nigeria.

It was learnt that the suspect was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos with $373,725 and €2,120 concealed inside packs of oats.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the discovery was made during an inward screening of passengers on a South African airline flight enroute from Johannesburg.

A 27-year-old man, Shehu Bashiru of Yabati Ward in Sabon Gari local government area of Kaduna State has been arrested by the Kaduna State police Command for allegedly raping a two- year-old girl to death.

The suspect was arrested by policemen from the Sabon Gari Area Command following a complaint from the father of the late minor, Mallam Zakkari Dahiru before he was transferred to the state police Homicide Department.
