Maintaining a good body weight is not only sexy but good for the general overall health. Staying slim and fit will avail you the opportunity to fight any disease and life threatening conditions. To work on your body size, you need to know your BMI (Body Max Index) which is on the average range of 18.5 to 24.9 depending on your age, sex, body frame and body type.

1) Eat only when you are hungry: To stay slim and fit, avoid eating when your stomach is 60% full. This will help you avoid overeating. Also note that your stomach performs better when it has more spaces to produce digestive juices and break down food. Do not eat out of boredom, stress or frustration. To stay slim and fit, eat only when you are hungry. Also, avoid eating food/drinks on the go as this will make you consume more calories than expected. I need not tell you that eating late at night is no. 1 killer when it comes to staying slim and fit. Do not eat late at night, make sure you have your last meal at least 2 to 3 hours before going to bed.

2) Portion size is key in staying slim and fit: The major problem facing over weight people is their inability to control portion sizes. Most people do not realize how portion control can help support weight loss efforts. Use a smaller bowl to dish your food: using a smaller bowl size for your meal will help you eat little at a time. If you are using a larger bowl, tendencies are that you will dish more than you actually require. Also, do not forget that it is easier to stay slim and fit if you eat home made food.

3) Detoxify your body: To kick start weight loss and stay slim and fit, start your day by drinking warm water mixed with the juice of 1/2 lemon. This lemon water not only detoxifies you but improves digestion, flushes out toxins, balances the pH levels and helps you maintain a healthy weight. If lemon is not within reach, you can as well use lime or Apple cider vinegar.

Although lemons and apple cider vinegar are acidic in nature, they have an alkalizing effect on the body. However, they may trigger heartburn if you drink them in excess or are prone to acidity. You can also drink delicious detox smoothies to support your body’s natural detoxifying abilities. Plus, it will count toward your servings of fruits and vegetables.

Needless to say, kick unhealthy habits like drinking alcoholic beverages and smoking cigarettes.
