Killers of the DPO in Ibadan Arrested

The Oyo State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 49 suspects, who were alleged to be involved in the killing of Agugu Divisional Police Officer, Ikeokwu Nwogu.

Nwogu was murdered on April 1, 2015 at the Adekile area of Ibadan during a reign of anarchy that reared its head in the aftermath of alleged discovery of a kidnappers’ den in the area.

The police said their investigation had established that the claim was false.

The 13-year old boy set ablaze by boss has been buried

The 13-year old Emmanuel Ezekiel, an attendant in a bar who was set ablaze by his boss, Shitu for stealing has been laid to rest at a public cemetery in Lagos. 

According to Punch Metro, on February 13, that Shittu (still at large), the manager of Golden Fingers Bar, on Akoka Road, Ibafo, Ogun State, allegedly dragged the teenager out on the evening of Sunday, February 8, poured petrol on him and set him ablaze.

Afghan police kill 26 militants in 24 hours

Units of national police backed by the army have killed 26 Taliban fighters during series of operations across the conflict-ridden Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, said a statement of Ministry of Interior released here Monday.

During the operations which have been conducted in Nangarhar, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Farah and Helmand provinces, 34 more militants were wounded and six others arrested, the statement said.

Units of police have also discovered a number of arms and ammunitions during the operations, the statement further said.

It didn’t say if there were casualties on security personnel.

Taliban have yet to make comment.
