An accident in Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, involving an Army Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC and a bus, has claimed the lives of about seven people while 17 others sustained various degrees of injury.
While speaking with newsmen on Monday, the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident.
Mohammed said the driver of the bus lost control while on high speed and as a result, collided with the APC, adding that seven persons lost their lives on the spot while 17 others sustained various degrees of injury.
The police PPRO identified the driver of the bus as one Yusuf Adamu while the APC was driven by one Babatunde Aridiogo.
He said the victims of the auto crash were taken to the Federal Medical Centre by a police patrol team attached to Azare Division, adding that the accident is been investigated.
