It was a horrific evening yesterday at Amoke in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State as an explosion rocked the house of Mr. Tony Eze.
The explosion, suspected to be a bomb by the natives, went off at about 5.00pm, destroying Mr. Eze’s house.
The sound of the explosion was said to have shaken the entire Udi town, home of Governor Sullivan Chime.
A police source told Daily Sun that the impact of the explosion was devastating and left high casualties.
The source that could not say how many people died in the explosion, however, added that the victims had been taken to a nearby hospital.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, a DSP confirmed the incident.
Though Amaraizu could not confirm whether the explosion was a bomb, he said the impact was much.
He told Daily Sun that the police rushed to the scene immediately the incident occurred and condoned off the place.
The PPRO said the police would confirm the cause of the explosion after its investigations.
