Contrary to reports, Igbos actually voted for Buhari......

Contrary to the general assumption that Igbos did not vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari, in Saturday’s presidential election, the Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima on Wednesday, said the contributions of the people of South-Eastern Nigerian was as impressive as other parts of the country.

Read Mercy Aigbe's explanations Why she voted Jonathan out

Apparently, plenty celebrities have now revealed they never voted for GEJ to return.

Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe Gentry opened up on her reasons for not voting the incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, at the 2015 presidential election.

Speaking at a social media forum, the Papa Ajasco actress revealed that one of the reasons she joined other citizens to vote the All Progressive Congress presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, was to show incompetent leaders that the public have the sole power to choose and determine who leads.

In her words, “We voted Jonathan out not because Buhari is a miracle worker, not because the alternative was the Best!! But so that incompetent leaders will know, fear and understand the people’s ability to select, Elect and De-Select.

Why should we endure another four years with PGEJ simply because we fear the Unknown? If the Unknown comes in and performs at the same level or worse, we vote them out as well! Until our leaders start to lead correctly, we will continue to change them! Tears of joy for Nigeria, I am so proud of all of us! May god continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria” she dropped.

Aigbe-Gentry was one of the many Nigerian celebrities that took to the polling booths to exercise their civic responsibilities in casting their vote at the Nigerian presidential election that held on Saturday, March 28, 2015.

It's an Electoral Offence for anybody to announce result outside the commission - INEC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged Nigerians to totally disregard misleading figures being circulated by the APC in the social media as results of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in some polling booths.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement on Sunday said the figures were “fake and do not represented the true results which are currently being collated by INEC, the only body authorized to release and announce results”.
