We've just sorted out the next episode for Jeremy Kyle to sink his teeth into, as a woman has discovered that her twin daughters actually have different fathers.
In an unusual turn of events, a paternity test was carried out in which it was determined that her former partner was actually only dad to one of the children. The woman only named by the initials T.M. then admitted that she had slept with another man a week after believing to have conceived with her boyfriend.
As a result, her ex now only has to pay support for one of the kids, who are now toddlers, as ruled by the courts.
Source indicates that Passaic County Judge Sohail Mohammad noted that he knew of only two other previous court cases in the past in which this happened. It's a rare process called heteropaternal superfecundation, where a woman releases two eggs during her menstrual cycle and different men fertilise one egg each. It comes up in only 1 of 13,000 paternity cases involving twins.
Jeremy Kyle would certainly have his hands full with this one.
