Floyd Mayweather Agrees To A Rematch With Manny Pacquiao

According to a text between Floyd Mayweather and a US journalist, the undefeated boxer has agreed to a rematch with Manny Pacquiao.

He apparently told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith that he would be happy to wait until Manny has fully recovered from his upcoming shoulder surgery, which could take up to 12 months, and step into the ring with him again.

It was thought that Mayweather would only fight one or two more times before hanging up his gloves. Once in September and possibly one more early next year, with Amir Khan desperate to take on the American in 2016.

The message is reported to have simply stated:

"I will fight him in a year after his surgery."

Could Mayweather be tempted to fight at least three more times? Or will he wait for his rematch to be the 50th and final bout before retirement?

It could get worse for Pacquiao though than just trash talk on social media, as two boxing fans have been reported to file a lawsuit against the Filipino, for allegedly not disclosing his injury in the pre-fight evaluation.

Two people filed the suit in Nevada, stating that Pacquiao had defrauded television viewers, ticket buyers and gamblers by not admitting to his shoulder injury before the bout.

Manny's camp claim that they requested an anti-inflammatory injection just before the fight got underway but that request was denied. If the lawsuit is successful, it could be costly to Manny, including perjury charges which can be punished with jail time.
