King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday removed his crown prince and foreign minister, as part of a dramatic reshuffling of his top officials.
The king replaced his younger half-brother, Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, as crown prince, appointing his nephew, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammedbin Nayef, as his new heir apparent. He appointed his son, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as deputy crown prince, making him second in line to the throne.
He replaced veteran Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal with Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the U.S. Adel al-Jubeir.
