As she cradles her twin girls in her arms, Julia Bradbury can barely contain her joy.
But fulfilling her dream to provide her three-year-old son Zephyr with siblings has been anything but easy for the former Countryfile presenter.
Miss Bradbury, 44, had been through five cycles of IVF before she gave birth to Xanthe and Zena in March.
But fulfilling her dream to provide her three-year-old son Zephyr with siblings has been anything but easy for the former Countryfile presenter.
Miss Bradbury, 44, had been through five cycles of IVF before she gave birth to Xanthe and Zena in March.
Then, during a complicated 11-hour labour, she lost more than four pints of blood.
Introducing the latest additions to her family, she told Hello! magazine that she will be returning to work in September.
She said: ‘My career is very much part of my make-up and who I am.
'Now I have two little girls, I feel I have a responsibility to show them they’ve got to be independent, self-sufficient, fend for themselves and forge their own path.’
She announced last September that she and her partner, TV producer Gerard Cunningham, 56, were expecting children again.
During a difficult pregnancy with Zephyr she was diagnosed with endometriosis, a painful womb condition, and later she developed pre-eclampsia which, if left untreated, can be dangerous to both mother and the unborn baby.
Miss Bradbury earned the nickname ‘the walking man’s crumpet’ by presenting outdoor programmes for the BBC.
She has also hosted Watchdog. In January she announced she was moving to ITV.
Congrats ma'am
