Patience Jonathan Describes Her Husband as a Legend

Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has described her husband as a legend whose legacy will not be forgotten by Nigerians and Africans in general.

First Africa news reports that the First Lady praised her husband’s tenacity for scaling the murky waters of politics where many others haven’t succeeded.

Mrs. Jonathan made the comments while she was speaking at a farewell ceremony organized in her honour by the National Council of Women Society (NCWS) in Abuja on Thursday, May 14, 2015.

She chronicled how her husband is the only politician in Nigeria, who has governed non-stop for sixteen years, from being Deputy Governor, Governor, Vice President, Acting President, and President

The outgoing first lady attributed the success of her husband to God, while on her own part, she pledged to play her role in nation building by working with the incoming First Lady, Aisha Buhari.

Finally, she called on Nigerians to support the incoming administration of President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, the same way they have supported herself and her husband.

Meanwhile, Madam Eunice Jonathan, the mother of incumbent President Jonathan, has moved into the family home in Otuoke, Bayelsa State as part of the ongoing plan to move out of the presidential villa ahead of the May 29 handover date.
