14-year-old boy arrested for killing teacher

A 14-year-old Spanish have been arrested by the police on suspicion of killing a teacher and wounding four others in an attack at a high school in Barcelona on Monday.

Police spokesman said that though the boy is a minor, he could not immediately confirm that he was a pupil at the school.

It appeared the perpetrator had used a crossbow, police said earlier although this had still to be confirmed. Firearms have been ruled out.

State new agency EFE also said the perpetrator had carried a knife.

The teacher killed was a male, while students were among those wounded, though none seriously, police said.
