A 34-year-old Lauren Mohr who was trying to help an accident victims has died after she fell off a bridge while carrying out her humanitarian work. Worldwideweirdnews reports:
Lauren Mohr of Connecticut, was trying to help two victims of a hit-and-run incident on Interstate 91 in New Haven, when she died.
Mohr had finished her shift at the Barcelona Restaurant in New Haven around 12:30 a.m., when she witnessed a hit and run incident. She stopped, called police and waited with the victims, according to family members.
While waiting for help to arrive, Mohr saw another car spinning out of control. As she jumped out of the way of the approaching vehicle, she fell over a concrete wall and off the bridge, landing about 40 feet below, State Police said. Police said that Elvin Ayala, 33, of Branford, hit the car of a 25-year-old woman. Ayala then fled the scene.
Ayala was later arrested and charged with evading responsibility, operating while under suspension and following too closely, according to State Police. So far, no one has been arrested in the accidental death of Mohr.
