Anthony Mason dies at 48

The longtime power forward for the New York Knicks, who was diagnosed with congestive heart failure earlier this month, died at 48, ESPN.com reported, citing a spokesman from the team.
Fox Sports reported that Mason played 13 seasons in league and was named Sixth Man of the Year in 1995.

Mason made his mark in the NBA while playing for the Knicks for five seasons. His bruising style epitomized the Knicks' rugged play and helped New York reach the 1994 NBA Finals, Fox Sports reported.
