This is my 3rd arrest, robbery suspect says

A robbery suspect, Ibrahim Tunde, has confessed that he had been arrested three times for robbery by the police and charged to court, freed only to continue with the bad business.
Ibrahim was among the three youthful but daring armed robbers arrested penultimate week by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of Lagos State Police Command.


The gang was alleged to have terrorized the residents of Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The gang, it was revealed, usually rob victims from house to house at night in the area, prompting the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Kayode Aderanti to order the SARS operatives to go after the members.
Other members of the gang are Friday John and Afolabi Olakunle.

The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, who confirmed their arrest, said that they also operate at Ikorodu where they robbed four buildings, adding that while they were operating on the fourth building, the police swooped on them and arrested them.
He said they would be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
Investigation revealed that they were five in number and that one ‘Spider” and ‘Joyibo’ who are at large trained them.

They allegedly rob from house to house and dispossess their victims of hand sets, cash and jewelleries.
They allegedly operate at Eyita, Ikorodu, they also operate at Bariga Area in Shomolu.
It was gathered that Ibrahim Tunde had been arrested four times by policemen from Owutu police division and charged to court only to come out and continue in his old ways.

The robbery operation which led to his arrest was carried out on January 24, 2015.
Ibrahim Tunde, 25, confessed as follows: “I am from Modimosan, Ogun State. I live at 32 Tafero Omolayo Street Agric, Ikorodu, I am a welder, I have been arrested three times for stealing and this is the fourth time. I have been charged to court once; we operate between 1am and 2am. I also learn borehole drilling. I do sell my cargoes (stolen) products at Ojuelegba to some Mallams . They arrested me while I was carrying my cargo and trekking. It was when I was doing conductor in order to get money to do freedom for my welding job that l  met these two people at Oshodi where people  smoke Indian hemp.”

I told them that my line was breaking an entry; I went with them to Ikorodu where they robbed three buildings at Agric and at Shomolu.
“In Agric, we got eight phones and N50, 000 and two phones at Igboloma when we broke the house, we reach out to their kitchen and collect knives and use it to threaten them. Police fired my leg as we were escaping”.

Friday Joshua, 19, who stopped his education in primary 3, said “I am from Inih Local Government of Akwa Ibom State, I grew up in Port Harcourt, my sister brought me to Lagos last year, I started smoking Indian hemp at Oshodi where I was doing bus conductor job. My parents are dead and I sleep in the bus I conduct at Oshodi. I have gone out with Ibrahim twice for robbery. Before that I have gone out for robbery with Afolabi once, it was at Alapere. It was a house, we carried a box of jewelleries and we were four the others are Spider and Omo-Joibo. I got N52, 000 there, phones and box of gold; we sold the gold to Aboki for N33, 000. They knew they were stolen gold”.

Afolabi Olakunle from Ibarapa local Government of Oyo State is I am 19 years old.
“I was a student of Badada Comprehensive High school, I stopped at SS2. I became a conductor at Oshodi I realize between N5, 000 and N7, 000 and it was Spider that introduced me into robbery last year December”.
